Plaque appears on bench for 'adulterer' with message 'I knew'

The commemorative plaque reads 'For my love'

A mystery plaque has appeared on a bench in Bristol - paying tribute to a 'Husband, Father, Adulterer'. The inscription was spotted on a bench in Royal York Crescent in the Clifton area of the city.

It adds: 'Yes, Roger, I knew'. Commemorative plaques are often attached to benches in memory of lost loved ones.

The 63-year-old woman who spotted the plaque said: "I have to say I found it very funny when I saw it. "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."
