Justice4Lillie - Lillie Clack

Lillie Clack died following a car crash on Christmas Day in south London (Debbie Clack)

Whilst the weather was glorious on Monday I thought I would take a walk around our local cemetery, well there is two and the husband and I do one more than the other.

During my walk I looked for the resting garden of Lillie Clack, Lillie lost her young life in 2021 at the hands of a reckless drunken driver, click here to read more on the case.

It was whilst visiting the outstanding garden that radiates love I met Lillie’s Mum Debbie, we had a lovely long chat and I learnt much about the loss of Lillie and the current law that needs changed today not tomorrow.

Charlie Hilton who was the driver of the car that killed Lillie was under the influence of alcohol but yet due to the current law and his continual ‘no comment’ stance he was able to continue driving for a whole year after the horrific crash before he was charged and ultimately pleaded guilty, the guilty plea obviously for his own benefit.

Hilton is currently in prison but in a few years he will once again walk the streets and through time drive again.

It transpired after his trial that he had 11 previous convictions, including for motoring offences.

Lillie’s family are petitioning for a change in the law, any change would be known as Lillie’s Law, you can view and sign the petition via this link Justice4Lillie and l would urge you to share.
