Let me say from the start that the crimes committed by Huw Edwards are heinous and appalling, he should have been given a custodial sentence.
In the Daily Mirror today a victim of Huw Edwards is speaking out again on how they feel their life has been ruined by Edwards.
I do not downplay how this victim and others are left affected and it can have a devastating effect on their life now and for years to come.
What I do not agree with is when individuals make money from interviews, in my books you are making money on the back of the convicted, the individual doing the interview today has already told his story.
What would be a gesture would be if any funds got donated to one of the many charities that deal with victims of child abuse, there are many worthy charities who do fantastic work and always in need of funds.
I would like to be proved wrong but think we can say more often than not the money stays with the individual selling their story.
This 21-year old previously had dealings with Edwards and received 35K over a period of time in exchange for X-rated images, when the mother and stepfather brought this to the attention of the relevant authorities it was investigated and the Police found no illegality when they looked into his case and it formed no part in the recent court case.
The individual is now estranged from his mother and stepfather.
